Wedding Day Throwback: How I Did My Makeup, More Pics
Our wedding was featured on Black Bridal Bliss yesterday, and we got positive feedback. It was so cool looking back at that day, the best day of my life thus far. Anyway, I did my own makeup for my big day and I got a question about what I used so, here you go:
Face:
Urban Decay Pore Perfection Complexion Primer (base)
I was experiencing a break out on my wedding day but this stuff helped to make my skin look smoother. My only gripe is that it goes on light at first but after a while it starts to feel heavy on my skin. Everyone’s skin is different so it may work for you but I don’t recommend this for long wear if your skin is oily. I have combination skin but it was winter time, so my skin wasn’t as bad.
Urban Decay’s All Nighter Spray (to set the whole look)
This stuff is AMAZING!!! My make up did not budge at all for the full 8 hours that I had it on (before washing my face), not even my eye liner, which is always a problem for me. I had gotten this as a sample near my wedding day and decided to test it out beforehand. I’m hooked! I don’t travel or do anything makeup related without this!
Cover Girl’s Queen Latifah Collection Natural Hue Compact Foundation in Rick Mink
This is my favorite drugstore brand foundation. Actually it’s the only one out of two that I actually like and that actually caters to my skintone (the other one is Black Opal) properly.
Eyes:
Mac Prep and Prime Eye Base (I didn’t really need this since I used the Urban Decay primer but I was being anal).
Sephora Brand Waterproof Gel Liner in Black
Stila Convertible Mascara (Waterproof)
Urban Decay’s Naked Palette – I can’t remember which individual shadows but I went more for the four colors on the far left.
I also added a pop of white in the corners of my eyes using NYX’s jumbo pencil in “Milk”
Brows:
Tarte’s emphasEYES Waterprodd Brow Liner
This stuff is amazing!
Lips:
OCC Lip Tar in Strumpet
Cheeks:
Mac Powder Blush in Sweet as Cocoa
And here’s a few more pics from our day:
Doing my hurr.
Mom helping with my fascinator and veil.
Dancing with the hubby (he was trying to hide from me and my family because he claims he can’t dance–and my family gets down–so I forced him to at least two step).
Cupcakes!
I loved everything about our cake, including the topper!
Goofing off for our photo book.
And that’s all I’m sharing folks! But if there are any brides to be out there with questions, don’t hesitate to email me.
